One of the first online sales platforms for Armenian wines has been launched by the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the ACBA Federation.
People can purchase 56 types of wines from 21 companies. In addition, customers have a unique opportunity to buy wines exclusively sold in specialist cafes, restaurants, and stores, including in Yerevan.
The wines on sale were selected by blind tasting due to the objective sensory evaluation of various wine samples. The platform also provides detailed information about the winemaker and product. The site is in three languages: English, German, and French and the Russian version will launch in the second quarter of this year.
According to Zaruhi Muradyan, executive director of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, the website is unique because it offers extensive information about Armenia's winemaking legacy, grape varieties, and winemaking regions. “The news section will keep the European buyer informed about upcoming events and achievements in Armenia's wine industry,” said Muradyan.

Armenia has an up-and-coming wine industry. While small businesses with limited resources and products would find it difficult to break into international markets, the website has paved the way.
Local Armenian companies producing high-quality wines, regardless of production volume, will be able to sell their products directly in Europe at affordable and competitive prices, according to Sirvard Amatuni, a program expert for GIZ’s "Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus."
The newly opened storage logistics center in Berlin has made it easier for Armenian wines to participate in wine exhibitions and tastings in the EU. In addition, customers can ask questions and place orders over the phone with the help of a customer support center.
